SMED vise \u00e0 r\u00e9duire les temps de r\u00e9glage \u00e0 moins de 10 minutes, id\u00e9alement en quelques minutes. Initialement utilis\u00e9e dans la construction automobile, SMED a permis \u00e0 Toyota de r\u00e9duire les temps de changement de produit de quatre heures \u00e0 seulement trois minutes.<\/p>\n<p>De nos jours, la concurrence s&#039;intensifie, notamment dans la fabrication de pi\u00e8ces automobiles et de pi\u00e8ces en plastique. Les produits ne durent plus aussi longtemps sur le march\u00e9 et les clients recherchent des produits plus vari\u00e9s.
