The gripping surface of each workpiece featured raised teeth, making conventional flat magnetic or mechanical grippers unsuitable. In addition, the customer required fast cycle times and a single gripper that could adapt to different product specifications without frequent tooling changes.\n\"\"\n\nCustomized Magnetic Gripper in Robotics Design\n\nTo meet these requirements, HVR MAG supplied magnet model: HEPMP-5815G-GP electro-permanent magnetic gripper, custom-designed according to the customer’s track plate drawings, gripping positions, and robot cycle requirements. The gripper features protruding magnetic poles that match the geometry of the tooth surface while avoiding interference with the raised sections of the workpiece. This optimized magnetic pole layout enables stable gripping of various crawler track plates while maintaining reliable positioning throughout the robotic handling process.\n\"\"\n\nResults of the Magnetic Gripper in Robotics Application\n\nIntegrated with the customer’s robot arm, the magnetic gripper in robotics delivers fast, repeatable, and damage-free handling of finished crawler track plates. Without pneumatic cylinders or hydraulic mechanisms, the electro-permanent magnetic design simplifies system maintenance while supporting continuous high-speed production.
