The system is designed to work with an automated gantry to handle bundles of square tubes in a more efficient and reliable way.

The customer’s application involves transferring arranged square tubes after processing. The tubes vary in size, including 40–80 mm and 30–60 mm sections, with wall thicknesses between 4 mm and 4.5 mm. Previously, the handling process relied heavily on manual labor. This resulted in high labor intensity, low efficiency, and potential safety risks during operation.
To address these challenges, HVR MAG developed a tailored magnetic handling solution based on the customer’s specific requirements. The system uses multiple electro-permanent magnets arranged to match the width and layout of the square tube bundles. By understanding the spacing, height differences, and total weight of the materials, the magnetic configuration ensures full contact and stable lifting during operation.

The magnets are integrated with an automated gantry system, enabling one-time lifting and transfer of multiple tubes. This significantly improves handling efficiency while reducing manual involvement. In addition, the system ensures that no workpieces are dropped during operation and prevents damage to the material surface.
