Magnetic Solution for Automated Palletizing Systems

In modern manufacturing, palletizing plays a key role in improving efficiency and reducing manual labor. As production volumes increase, more companies are turning to automated gantry systems to handle stacking and material transfer tasks. HVR MAG provides electro-permanent magnetic solutions that integrate with these systems, offering a reliable and efficient way to handle metal workpieces during palletizing processes.

In this recent project, HVR MAG designed a customized magnetic system for an automated gantry used in palletizing applications. Customer application: Steel pipes palletizing in rows, with a width of 150mm, a wall thickness of 0.8-1mm, a diameter of 18-35mm, and a length of 3000mm. Magnet model we designed:HEPMSP-2011S-YST-GP , and use two units per system. The goal was to improve handling efficiency while ensuring stable and precise placement of workpieces. Traditional methods often rely on manual labor or mechanical clamping tools, which can be slow, inconsistent, and labor-intensive. These limitations make it difficult to achieve high productivity in modern production lines.

To solve these challenges, HVR MAG developed an electro-permanent magnetic solution tailored to the customer’s working conditions. The magnetic system is installed on the gantry and acts as a reliable gripping tool. It enables the system to pick up multiple metal workpieces at once and place them accurately onto pallets. This significantly improves cycle time and ensures consistent stacking quality.

One of the key advantages of this solution is its stable magnetic force. The electro-permanent magnets only require power during magnetization and demagnetization, while maintaining holding force without continuous power. This not only reduces energy consumption but also ensures safety by preventing load drops in case of power interruption.

In addition, the system is designed for easy integration with automated equipment. It supports smooth operation with gantry systems and helps reduce commissioning time. The result is a more efficient and reliable palletizing process that meets the demands of modern automated production.

By combining electro-permanent magnetic technology with automation systems, HVR MAG delivers practical solutions that help customers improve efficiency, reduce labor costs, and achieve stable and consistent palletizing performance.
